These face masks are handmade in Austin, TX. I pulled from my backstock of vintage fabrics, cut up some denim and tie-dye to provide a unique and sustainable face mask option. They are all made from durable cotton materials (denim, patterned fabric, twill or chambray).
We’ve field tested face mask styles, and are here to provide the best possible handmade option, including thicker fabric, filter pocket, metal nose strip and two tie options.
- Made from a think exterior fabric and thinner lining these are reversible and can worn be worn either way. Using a thicker cotton fabric like denim is more durable and offers a higher percentage of filtration
- There is an open pocket to insert additional filters of your choosing if exposed to a high impact area (not included). Suggestions include: vacuum bag, HEPA filter, coffee filters stacked, quilt batting, flannel fabric, paper towels stacked
- There is bendable metal strip at the bridge of the nose to help secure these to your unique face shape. These strips are removable.
- Two options... elastic loop that goes around your ear. Strips to tie around your head and neck. There’s no right answer here, I prefer the ties because you can adjust to different head sizes more easily. The loops are really easy to put on and take off.
measurements [ approx 10” x 6.25” // due to the handmade nature, these measurements are not exact. If you have a concern, just leave a note in the comments at checkout. You can request things like, the largest size regardless of color or the smallest mask with ear loops, etc. ]
color [ denim shades and trim colors such as thread, elastics and ties will vary from mask to mask with availability. If you have a wish, leave a comment at checkout and I will do my best ]
materials [ 100% cotton // metal nose strip // elastic ear loop option // recycled and dead-stock fabrics used when possible ]
condition [ handmade, dried on hot and directly sealed in a plastic bag for shipment. Use your own discretion, but these masks are shipped ready to wear ]
care [ wash and dry your mask on warm/hot between uses. You could also air dry after hand washing using warm/hot water and mild soap. Laying in the sun for 30+ mins can help disinfect in a pinch.
safety [ this mask is in not guaranteed to prevent the spread of, or risk of contracting any virus. if you have to go out in public, wearing a mask is encouraged in any capacity, including a mask made from a tightly woven cotton fabric. please wear at your discretion and risk. ]
